Terms of Use

These terms apply to Ledgr. Using the app means you accept them.

What Ledgr is

A bookkeeping and tax preparation tool. It keeps your records, produces statements and prepares returns from them under South Africa law.

What Ledgr is not

We do not file anything for you. Ledgr prepares what you need and you file it with SARS yourself. Nothing in the app is submitted to a revenue authority.

We are not your accountant or your tax adviser. The figures are computed from the records you enter, with the working shown and the law cited, so you or your adviser can check them. Where the app cannot work something out it says so rather than guessing. You remain responsible for what you file.

Your account

Keep your password to yourself. Tell us at support@ledgr.mobi if you think somebody else has it. You are responsible for what happens under your login.

Your records

Your books are yours. We hold them for you and you can export or delete them at any time. See the privacy policy.

Subscription and payment

Ledgr is a paid subscription, charged monthly in rand. There is a free trial; when it ends the app becomes read-only until you subscribe — your records are never deleted for non-payment, and you can always read and export them. Cancel any time from More → Subscription; cancellation stops the next charge and does not refund the current month. See the refund policy.

Accuracy

We work hard to keep the tax rules current and every figure carries its statutory source. Tax law changes, and a figure that was right last year may not be right this year. Check anything you are relying on against SARS's own published position — every calculation in the app links to it.

Availability

We aim to keep the service running and cannot promise it will never be down. We are not liable for indirect losses. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Ending it

You can stop using Ledgr and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend an account that is being used unlawfully or that is damaging the service for others, and we will tell you why.
